2 Bros Pizza is a dirt cheap New York City Pizzeria. They have three branches, two in the City (St. Marks, 17 & 6th Ave) and one in New Jersey (Woodcliff Lake). I’ve only been to their 6th Ave branch and it’s always filled with customers. Their $1 a slice and $2.75 two slices and a soda combo is incredibly cheap. The quality isn’t bad either, slices are made fresh and served sizzling hot. It’s not the best, but definitely one of the better slices I’ve had in the City. They also have a host of other offerings like fried chicken, french fries, and soup that are also recession friendly ($1-2.5), but I don’t recommend trying anything other than their pizza. The chicken looks really dry and the soups are less frequently sold and are usually sitting out for long periods of time.

Pala is not another NYC pizzeria; It’s Italian style, slightly more up scale and very healthy. Their dough recipe is all natural, high in protein and low in carbs. It’s created with a blend of over 14 flours and is left to rise slowly for up to five days. Their toppings are simple, innovative, and always fresh. My favorite is the bufala cruda, a simple slice topped with buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomato sauce, and fresh basil. You can order by foot or slice, with an option for gluten free crust. They also serve a host of delicious pastas and all meals can be paired with wine. They are pricier then your average pizza joint, but it’s definitely worth it. Pala is a must try if you’re a fan of Italian style pizza. I also recommended that you come with a group so that you can sample more of what Pala has to offer.

California Pizza Kitchen Grocery

California Pizza Kitchen Grocery

California Pizza Kitchen or CPK as we all like to call it serves creative pizza with influences from around the world. Now, you can find all that goodness of the restaurant in your grocer’s freezer. CPK has introduce a grocery line that includes Crispy Thin Crust, Self-Rise Crust, and For One. Each style has a number of flavors from their restaurant menu and take no more than 20 minutes to prepare (remove packaging and pop it into the oven). The taste comes close to the restaurant. My favorite among CPK’s grocery line are the Self-Rising Crust BBQ Chicken, Thai Chicken, and Five Cheese & Tomato. They retail for $3.50-$5.95 depending on the style and can be found at popular grocers around the US. I get mines from Target here on the east coast.

Santini’s Pizza

Santini’s Pizza

Rating: ★★☆☆☆
Hunter Mountain, Hunter, New York 12442

Price: $

Santini’s Pizza is located up on Hunter mountain on the Main Floor of the Lodge. They offer New York style piazza, veggie and meatball subs, and ice-cold beverages.

I had two slices of their original Pizza with an ice cold lemon tea. The ice tea wasn’t bad, but the same could not be said about their pizza. It tasted like frozen pizza out of a box and for $2.50 a slice it wasn’t good.

Skip Santini’s Pizza, if you can, and find a place to grab some food while your boarding away up in Hunter’s lodges.

California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) offers wide selection of hearth-baked pizzas with flavors and taste from all around the world, as well as creative salads, Fresh Pastas, soups, sandwiches, appetizers, and deserts. CPK also offer a wide selection of Beverages from Cocktails to wines, beers, and specialty coffee and teas. Wines and Beers can be special paired to your meals by the hostess. They have over 180 locations around the world.

I went to their Westberry branch in Long Island and had their world famous original barbecue chicken Pizza, baked with Barbecue sauce, smoked Gouda and Mozzarella cheeses, BBQ Chicken, sliced red onions and cilantro. It provided a very rich taste that was extremely satisfying. The portions are generous and are enough to fill you up. I washed down my meal with an IBC Root Beer, bringing my grand total to $15.00 including a 17% tip.
